sounds like Flint, Michigan, which is sort of the mirror-image of Youngstown.
There Limbaugh and Beck are on a 1kW popwhistle that fades out at the Lapeer
County line. You can get the UAW brothers worked up about NAFTA or immigration,
but you can't sell the Republican Party line to them.

In fact when I was living there and Michael Moore came out with his first movie about
Flint, the then-Mayor lamented "why couldn't he have made this movie about Youngstown?"
 
Very much similar, right down to the union strength (once steel, now mostly UAW thanks to GM Lordstown being the largest employer in the Valley).
