I always wonder why folks are so down on stations that play soft music. I listen to different music depending on my different moods. There are times I want uptempo tunes, when I want a boost. Then there are times when I'm reading or need to concentrate and I want soft music that will not compete for my attention.Yeah this sounds nothing like the original Cool 96. It had just launched when I moved to Lafayette for college and it played at my work. It was nowhere as sleepy as this crap they're playing now. TBH even my 73 year old mom said it was too sleepy š¤·š»āāļø
It wasn't that long ago when there were plenty of stations that played soft music and were highly rated. Easy Listening, Beautiful Music, Smooth Jazz, Soft AC, even Classical. Now most markets have no soft music among a dozen or more FM stations. Did life become less hectic that we don't want to hear music to help us relax in a busy day?
I wouldn't call any popular style of music "crap" as if someone is trying to sell me something he knows is defective.
