I have a client in Thousand Oaks that I visit occasionally. My last time up there a few weeks ago I listened a bit to "Playlist 92.7" which claims to have the biggest playlist in the state, and for a commercial station, that may very well be true. Wide variety of songs that seemed to go back to the early seventies forward, most in the upbeat AC tempo.
I actually enjoyed the station quite a bit, but couldn't help but think that (as usual) the variety that I enjoyed, which spans several decades, makes for a poorly focused station - just ask David E. They even said on their liners that there were songs the "whole family can listen to" or something to that effect. That's gotta be the ratings kiss of death.
