Playlist 92.7

I hardly listen since its on a crappy signal but I keep forgetting its on my Tune In app. Only thing I give them credit on they are playing music you dont hear on KOST anymore.

I have a client in Thousand Oaks that I visit occasionally. My last time up there a few weeks ago I listened a bit to "Playlist 92.7" which claims to have the biggest playlist in the state, and for a commercial station, that may very well be true. Wide variety of songs that seemed to go back to the early seventies forward, most in the upbeat AC tempo.

I actually enjoyed the station quite a bit, but couldn't help but think that (as usual) the variety that I enjoyed, which spans several decades, makes for a poorly focused station - just ask David E. They even said on their liners that there were songs the "whole family can listen to" or something to that effect. That's gotta be the ratings kiss of death.

I also forget that they exist...but I decided to give it a try recently and despite the "trainwreck" like playlist, it made a great station to leave on at work all day. Kind of reminds me of Muzak.

Playlist 92.7 is ok in my book. I agree about there crappy signal in some areas of LA. I wish they would buy the Air1 92.7 transmitter which was on the air about a week ago but, seems to be off air. It would be great if they can purchase that transmitter and run at least 50 to 70 watts on Box Springs in the Riverside area to cover the Inland Empire. I was talking to the GM of Playlist 92.7 and he likes the fact that the High Desert area loves to listen to Playlist 92.7 but, they are focusing on LA / the OC and Ventura County. Then, why would they install a transmitter on Quartzite Mtn just north of Victorville?

Would be nice for them to get a transmitter closer to Los Angeles. Im sure if that happens someone might be interested in buying it. Maybe SoCal935??? Just a thought but the music selection is ok

Also to add if anyone remebers Jill FM is it me or did they sound more Hot AC since it was a female favored Adult Hits station. Im talking about between 2006-2009?

If you have a rental car your in luck but a walkman or ipod radio tuner just static on 92.7 unless you move it around normally by a window. Use Tune In on your smartphone. If your gonna be in Orange County you should have no problem picking up the station on a normal radio

KDM, knowing your music taste from your multiple posts on this board for the few past years, Playlist won't necessarily be your cup of tea ;)

Is

She drives me crazy - Fine Young Cannibles
I can't help falling in love - UB40
Don't turn around - Ace of Base
Mr Jones - Counting Crows
Big time - Peter Gabriel
True faith - New Order
Physical Touch - Genesis
Walking on broken glass - Annie Lenox

or

Sussudio - Phil Collins

or similar things on any part of their playlist?

By the way, I still never fully understood the meaning of "In the house of stone & light" by Martin Page. What's funny is whenever I mention that song, no one knows what I'm talking about (but it was a big hit - even made Rick Dees weekly top 40 I believe).

I don't live that far from the station and can pick it up clearly. At the Physical Therapist's office it's the station of choice. Recently I have heard AC-DC and Aerosmith on 92.7. That's amazing to me being that it's been a "Lite Hits" station for decades now.

Well, Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" is common on AC radio...
