They have control over every stations format choices? I did not know Salem,Infintiy, Susquehanna, ABC, Radio One,cox, Jefferson-Pilot have not launched an oldies station because Clear Channel told them not to. Infinity has killed bigger oldies FMs than Clear Channel has because the billing potential continues to drop.

There's also Live 365. There are plenty of oldies stations there, even some with "Old Time Radio". And you don't even have to spend a dime, unless you sign up for the V.I.P. package.

I disagree here about the "billing potential" dropping. If oldies is done right, packaged and sold well, you can make plenty of money.

I realize agencies don't want to buy 35-64...but guess what demo has ALL THE MONEY?!? There's IS a way to tap into that. Waiting to take the next order from an agency, of course, won't get a station there. Some actual selling, will.

I wonder how the billing is on WCBS in New York, YIKES!

It seems like "Jack" might go the way of "Jammin' Oldies".

Agreed. With more choices in media now than ever before, FM radio may have no choice but to adjust. Like it or not, we might see more news/talk and sports stations on the FM dial in the years to come.

That alone will shrink the already thin market for air personalities even further.

I appreciate sarcasm. Look around, there are still many successful stations in Oldies billing big dollars. WCBS took a gamble, it won't pay off in 2005...and unlikely it will in 2006. KOOL in Phoenix is the top billing station in their market.

60/70's focus, great airstaff, smart programming, and a sales staff focused on direct business.
