Please Tell Me This Is an April Fool's Joke....

i've been listening too, i can't see cbs radio flipping them after a jump in ppm, well, noo why would they?

reminds me of a promo at wwkx (then kix 106) in RI back in the 90's when they ran promos saying they were taking over another station in the providence market (just after they started simulcasting their signal on a 2nd frequency in RI) everyone was baffled, come to find out that day they were taking over a gas station and giving gas away for $1.06 lol

so anything can happen!

Britney 95.7. All Britney all the time. (Her concert is Monday night.)

Circus played every 20 minutes instead of every hour.

DUE TO THE BAD ECONOMY? I bet their not going to flip...it's probably another On-Air Promotion to "PAY YOUR BILLS!" You gotta catch the listeners attention any way possible...even if it means getting the Program Director to voice a disclaimer. It's funny that everything is starting Monday morning March, 30th. That's not even the end of the month. Most stations flip on the 1st, after the billing cycle and their advertising contracts are up...we'll see!! ;D

I guess we all gotta wait til monday. After what Mr. Tiller said, im not that worried now. i mean, if they flipped, what would they flip to? doesn't houston have every format already??

no houston doesnt have all the formats for example an active rock station

Oh ok. I honestly dont think CBS would flip to active rock considering the fact that they're flipping almost all of their rock stations like they did with k-rock in NY and soon WYSP in Philly.

Swingin' 95.7. Put it in the bank.

Now that is....an April fool's joke. In all reality, this reeks of a promotional stunt.

They will probably do the same thing that they have done in New York with WXRK and in Los Angeles with KLSX. For 95.7, it would just be a mild tweak. Probably nothing that is worth being upset or freaking out about.

Although, I do like the person who brought up Active Rock being excluded from the market.

Ok i found out some things:
  • They are still paying bills next week!
  • The pussycat dolls will still be in the Hot studios Monday Night!
  • They are still giving away things like nothing's going on behind the scenes!

The "stunt" smell is starting to get stronger in Houston.

Monday 6am could be a new morning show

"We've enjoyed playing Houston's Hot Hits, but I'm afraid that's no longer..." = new morning show?

no.

You people are funny if you think 'petitions' will make a difference in a corporation changing their plans. Let's see, 'Hot' was around about a year or two, and KLOL was around about 30 years - the petitions by the former KLOL listeners were ignored, just like this attempt at 'saving' a relatively new and innocuous station.

IF it was a major format change, they would NOT be talking about for days.
IF it was a format change, the on air people would NOT be allowed to talk about it, much less circulate a petition. (Even if that was true, it wouldn't work anyway. It hasn't worked before and it won't work now.)
IF it was format change, the on air people would be the last to know.

You are doing exactly what they want. Get everybody to talk about what is happening on Hot. Oh, I'm sure there will be some kind of announcement; but it won't be a format change. You are making a big deal out of nothing. My opinion is subjective.
