Well, I'd be going with Bob. Let's see, it was Oasis, CD 97.5, Cat Country, Star, Bob, am I missing any?

each station is fulfilling a need in it's cluster. Point protects Mix. Bob and Mountain are designed to chip away at Mix. Mountain also gives the CC folks a station that does well 25-54 (which they can't necessarily count on from KRQQ or KOHT). My guess is that Journal's fearful those two shares could go to someone else if they changed the point.

Don't look for Lotus to make any drastic changes. Classic Rock ..stupid radio ? Advertisers and ad agencys don't think so .

Point or Bob will change. One of those two will, they are head-to-head competetors.

Mountain and Mix are head-to-head competetors as well, but Mix is really the only strong Journal station, which means if Mountain doesn't do well, Journal might not change Point.

97.5 started out as KRKN which was some sort of "Classic Rock". Every format has been low budget and that usually is a prescription for lousy ratings.

The KLPX switch to Classic Rock appears to have been part of a national thing which took place a couple years ago when nearly all Album Rock (AOR) stations changed to Album Rock oldies. The reason for this switch begs two interesting questions: Is no new album rock being produced? Is it all junk that nobody wants to hear? If not, maybe there's a market for the new material and someone ought to fill the void. KLPX would be the logical choice.

Good observation. Active Rock (New Rock) is on a downslide. Not to say that its on its way out but the active rock rock format has seen better days . We can wait for Metallica & Ozzy to come around once again save the active rock format :)...There are some decent new bands out there..a few that come to mind are Audioslave Queens Of The Stone Age,Foos,..really dont have the patience for Linkin Park,Tantric.NonPoint,Slipknot,S.O.D etc . No mass appeal Nothing personal ..just aint my taste ...maybe thats why active rock is losing some ground ...some bands are just not that great . Its unbelievable how some can actually land a record deal

ratings aside, who are the top billers in town?

OR KRQQ

Now that John, Jay and Rich are going to be putting their egos, uh I mean EFFORTS, on building a show in Feenix. The KRQQ ratings will surely drop even lower. The station already lost their PD and now probably more than half of the morning show's Tucson focus.

Their PD is awful as far as talent, or at least KZZP's playlist is better.
