Polly's Think Pink Radio-Thon - Call To Action

Hello Radio Broadcasters

I'm sure you have read this past week of Pauline Robbin's battle with breast cancer. In the Upper Valley, there isn't one radio person who didn't know Pauline.

I am honored to announce that the entire radio community in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont will be jointly pulling our resources together to raise $$ for the Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth Hitchock Medical Center in Pauline's name. We have named this radio broadcast Polly's Think Pink Radio-Thon

All radio companies have placed down the corporate flag for this one day. Thursday 6a-7p. Koor Communications, Nassau Broadcasting, Dartmouth Broadcasting and Great Eastern Radio will all be working together. Same broadcast, all frequencies, all jocks on hand.

Also I'm excited to announce that Nassau Broadcasting - Lakes Region has also joined the cause and will be broadcasting this radio-thon, giving the cause coverage thru the center of New Hampshire.

I wanted to extend this cause & radio broadcast to you. If your radio station, college or commercial, would like to be apart of this one day (hopefully statewide) event, please email me asap [email protected] (I will explain the technical side of things personally to you.) I would love to see the entire state to stand together and use our powers for the good & fundraise for Breast Cancer. Each radio cluster will have avails for local spots.

Though I'm the point person on this campaign, it could not happen without the help of people like Heath Cole, Doug Welldone, Michelle Stevens, Wally Caswell, Bob Vinikoor, and people like you who care and would like to join in the cause. Hands down, every company in the UV has whole heartedly placed this radio-thon as #1 on priory list. No one blinked, everyone was 100% onboard from the get-go.

Please forward this page to anyone you know in the radio community that may also want to help this great cause. Thank you for your time.

Wow, what a great cause to read about. Kudos to all the stations involved.

This sounds great today. Impressive what we can do when we take off our gloves.

THIS IS WHAT COMMUNITY RADIO IS ALL ABOUT!!!
and i am proud to be employed by one the stations broadcasting this UNPRECEDENTED event today!

Listening right now on the web... this is truly a day for all UV stations to be proud. You're all doing a great job, for a great cause in honor of a great human being.

In a day and age that radio is in now, this is truly very, very special. I listened for a little while on the web and it sounds GREAT. This is the beauty of smaller market radio for sure. The big guys should learn something from all of this.

It would be nice if this became an annual event. Wonderful job by everyone involved.

I second and third that motion. By the way, i have heard that the final given just before 7:00 P.M. DID NOT include all internet donations, so i'm hoping the total will be far greater. either way still amazing!

What a terrific show! I listened as often as I could. I even went in person to make my donation. Everyone did a super job. Over $35,000! Kudos to everyone. It is great to be part of such a community. Chris, Heath, Steve - you guys really pulled it together. I can't wait to hear what the final tally is after the online donations. Please make sure to post it here for all to see. Great job to all who put in the time and to all those who did their part and contributed.

Love to All,
Media Mom

$37,000? Did I hear right? Congrats on all involved. It's nice to see radio work together instead of the usual crap you see on this board

:eek:THAT'S GREAT NEWS!!! Hopefully more money when the total comes in. Great job to everyone. It was a pleasure hearing it on all the stations and a pleasure hearing from some of the folks of radio recent and late past taking the air to support this cause. I now work in the southern part of NH and worked at one time or another with a lot of the voices that took part:

RAY L, HEATH C, STEVE S, WARREN B, DREW J, TOM H, CHRIS G, SHEP S, ANDY (aka JOHN BAILEY THESE DAYS) I started listening around 10am so if I missed your name sorry! I had an airshift of my own to do!

Great Job Again!
