Portable Wi-Fi Internet Radio Unveiled
British audio company Acoustic Energy has created what they claim is the first Wi-Fi Internet radio. The radio can access nearly all internet radio stations, using wireless Internet connections and can be used anywhere that a Wi-Fi connection is available. Acoustic Engery has teamed with German technology compnay Reciva whose technology is used to upload channel listings to your radio. The radio can also be used to play most music files that are stored on your computer.
The radio will be initially introduced overseas, with Acoustic Energy releasing the radio to consumers this November. It is expected to cost just over $350 US.
For more info on the radio go to www.acoustic-energy.co.uk/contact/radio.html

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Wi-Fi Internet Radio introduced in the US by November for those Christmas gifts for those that have every new radio that comes on the market. Actually when the price drops to a more affordable level, I would invest my money in a Internet Radio that receives 1000's of stations over HD-R or Satellite. Houston all ready has a number of Wi-Fi Internet sites, at this time mainly inside the loop, but is spreading rapidly outside the loop and the goal is to have the majority of Houston Wi-Fi in a few years.
