I did a bit of daytime DX today, checking battery portables for workings for whatever stray Blizzards of the Century we're due to have before spring.
Amid the QRM and swarms of whatever -- that one stoplight in Port Carbon must be a nuclear device -- there was a fadey station atop 930 playing a more recent manner of Classic Rock besides the usual anthems. '102 and 104.something, The Goat'.
As in 'Greatest of all time'. It was WHLM Bloomsburg PA, just to let yiz know. A year ago I'd reported here that they were the loudest thing on the dial for a few overnights -- by far. They were 'Pop Radio' then, featuring and hyping what was most likely for most DXers to consider, easily, the most unbelievably bad modern music ever recoded. That sound, plus them no doubt operating full-time daytime 2000 omni watts in the wee hours could have made IDing them a cinch for many. No way they were obeying their licensed 18 watts.
They are now 'The Goat', however.
