Post your latest DX

I haven't had much time to look for new stations the last few days, but when I do it has seemed that reception is too good... I'm hearing many stations on a lot of frequencies, so anything new is going to be hard to find. Basically, the opposite of the auroral conditions we were getting a while back.
That's pretty much what I'm running into. Lots of signals and not much that's rising to the top.

XEFCR on 1670 just across the border from McAllen, TX appears to be on the air again. Running english language AC music, no IDs. Been catching it most of this week and last week. Fights heavily with BIN 1670 WMGE.

Yesterday I got to knock a station off my "closest unheard" list - classic country 1000 KSTA in Coleman, TX, at 161 miles to the N-NW.

After experiencing some good AM daytime skywave yesterday afternoon, I checked the band again around 4:30 p.m. CT (one hour before sunset). On 1000 I was hearing Faith Hill's "Where Are You Christmas?" mixing with KTOK and XEOY. It was followed by DJ talk with references to "We are Coleman," Coleman county, and livestock auctions. The station was in/out for a little while longer with songs by Mel McDaniels and Brooks & Dunn.

Try JML right now. I have it on right now. It’s likely a computer issue, but the studio might not be easily accessible due to the snow. It’s way out in (and with) the sticks. Maybe that’s another reason Bob and Tom left for Indianapolis...

Is WBT coming in? The WJML nulls are in the range of 2.4 kW, toward Tustin, but toward Western NY, the IDF is in the 10 kW range. Plus, there’s the skip zone.

Odd that I've never logged KTXV before.

for what its worth, ive been unable to find any correlation between my DXing in rural central alaska and anyone elses.

you know, like.. if someone in OHio is hearing something from mexico or a spanish speaking country further south, its oft5en worth others checking.

ive never had my conditions or quality of reception match anyone else.

all i know is aurora activity/northern lights completely ruins reception.

ive had my reception be a bit different then even someone in anchorage only 250 miles away

While I was trying to find a station where KGLC/KVIS 910 interfered with out West, I discovered that WFDF is one of the biggest skywave interference contributors to the now deleted KIYU in Galena, Alaska. That is surprising, as it is about 3000 miles away.

Galena the mineral can apparently be used as a detector. I wonder if you could take a rock from the ground near Galena and build a crystal radio?🤣

I'm wondering if that's the issue we seem to be experiencing with the Norway Arctic SDR. It has long been my understanding that Alaska isn't a great spot for DX for that reason. That said, you've shared a lot of impressive catches that debunk that supposition.

No, i havent. My catches/logs have all been when there is no northern lights/aurora activity. As I said, thats what ruins radio reception

I worked at KIYU, but long after it moved to 97.1 then to 88.1.. back in 2016. THen the AM tower was still standing and a DX10 was still in the shack, hadnt been regularly used in a decade.

I heard that one a few months back. I'm a little surprised that I was able to somehow beat you to it. :)
I am not surprised. The one rule that applies to DXing is "being at the right place, at the right time". Almost anything is possible.
