Thanks for the tip, crainbebo!
I’m hearing them too. Since they were strong on the RGV SDR during the daytime, my guess is it’s a new station in Reynosa testing. Still need to hear an announcement to be sure. I wonder if anyone outside Texas is hearing them.
I passed on this post to Tim Hall aka the cliff claven of mexican AM radio.. he had it on the Brownsville SDR about 9am this morning. Someone in harlingen has it on a CC Skywave at noon. It's 1670 reynosa.
@Dondd WBZ is occasionally heard here in DFW when conditions are favorable, mixing with KFAY (NW Arkansas). WERC (Birmingham) is the dominant 960 station most nights. 920 is owned by KARN (Sports) from Little Rock. Nulling KARN gets KYFR (IA) and KYST (TX Houston area in Spanish). I haven't heard KLMR, but will try now that I know it gets into Austin area.Last night, I pulled in a variety of distant stations here in central Texas, between Austin and Temple, TX.
- 1030 WBZ, Boston, came in (faintly, but enough to hear a station ID)
- 960 WREC, Birmingham. Was running Coast to Coast, along with 950-KPRC, Houston, at that time. Faint and didn't last long but enough to hear origination.
- 920 KYFR in southwest Iowa. Faint Family Radio programming, but did hear the station ID.
- 920 KLMR, in Lamar, CO, in the southeast part of the state. Coming in clearly, for a time, with CBS Sportsradio, which is listed as a program on its website.
WBZ comes in well here in Houston sometimes. I checked after midnight last night and they were almost equal to XEQR with no sign of KFAY.@Dondd WBZ is occasionally heard here in DFW when conditions are favorable, mixing with KFAY (NW Arkansas). That 920 I'm hearing may be Little Rock, as those maps show both Lamar, CO, and Little Rock putting a signal over central TX.WBZ comes in well here in Houston sometimes. I checked after midnight last night and they were almost equal to XEQR with no sign of KFAY.
KARN is strong here in the KYST null (KYST seems weaker than they should be here). Note, KARN also runs some CBS Sports programs.
DFW, TexasKNX-1070 making it to Central Indiana on the Edinburgh SDR, also another Central Indiana DXer heard it on a portable. Mixed with WCSZ-SC, no CHOK tonight. California news and LA traffic.
Thatz Oh-kay. We all do that on occasion.Oops, you're right of course. Actually, looking again, 730 XEHB is in Hidalgo del Parral, Chih, not Monterrey. I need to proofread before posting)
I am also hearing KNX 1070 on the Arctic SDR which is located a LONG WAYS from LA. Maybe this is a good night for the DXer’s in Chicago to pick up KNX if people in Indiana are receiving it on a portable unit and it’s making it across the Arctic to Norway!KNX-1070 making it to Central Indiana on the Edinburgh SDR, also another Central Indiana DXer heard it on a portable. Still no luck for me on the Arctic although I did hear KNX tonight on the Edinburgh, In SDR around 3:45AM CST. Maybe there's still hope of catching it in the Chicago area.
