DFW, Texas --- Sangean ATS-909X

New loggings:
940 WMAC GA, Macon 10/28 0644 CDT: Dale Walmsley show. Local ad for building supplies in Middle Georgia. Fair in XEQ null.
1460 KKOY KS, Chanute 10/28 0140 CDT: On top of frequency with classic country. ID between each song "My Country". Night power listed as 57 watts (maybe) at 334 miles.

Amazing what you can hear when the mainland fades away in Hawaii.

780 KNOM Nome positive ID on the NH6XO SDR at Kaneohe (Windward) HI just a few minutes ago, all alone!
1230 very likely *KIFW Sitka AK* all alone, Modern Love David Bowie, syndicated countdown show (not Casey Kasem repeat). Was matching stream. That's what, 2500 miles at 1KW? I also have a trace of something on 1450 which could be KLAM Cordova (only 250w).
Standards on 620 (Frank Sinatra, etc.) likely KGTL Homer with weekend specialty programming.

KGTL runs talk during the day and standards at night, i think.. its not weekend specialtiy progrmaming, its part of their regular progrmaming. They went more talk when they added a simulcast on 840.

KLAM comes in well up here at 300 miles away

CQWW contest and 10 meters/28 mhz is hopping w/ TEP (and maybe F2). PY5FO on 28.403 is S7 and so is PX2A (Sao Paulo) on 28.413. Even some multi-hop sporadic-E with VE3KG on 28.547.25.
TO5M St Martin 28.516 S7 and strengthening. Pileups when he calls QRZ.

EDIT - L50DY Argentina in there on 28.339 or so. And K5TR (George) near Austin TX plugging away on 21339 / 28315, both channels in well.

5KW directional 3WM 1089 Horsham, Victoria, Australia (about 10,000km away) logged at 1534UTC Mon Oct 31st with a local ad and a few minutes later, the station re joined its networked overnight talk show, whos host gave out the phone number ending in 693, which is form 3AW which made it even easier to rule out the only other 1089 in australia.

Can't sleep tonight so I'm tuning around the Edinburgh IN SDR. Noting WWL off the air, with a very weak warbler underneath. Radio Progreso has been loud on 890 under and over WLS, and tentative logging of a "Radio America" in Spanish....only match is WACA in Laurel MD. Wouldn't take that to the bank.

I'm checking the Maui SDR http://mauisdr.wsprdaemon.org:8073/ and ABC 1548 is currently at very strong level w/ABC Overnight program. Not too many other TP's/DU's audible, which makes this pretty remarkable. I have been hearing Taiwan International on 1557 and a couple of others. This SDR seems to only work properly above ~1400 or so.

ABC 1548 is audible on the Kanehoe SDR also, but too much slop from the local on 1540.

11/3 0610-0630 CDT 1550 kHz, heard Spanish news programming aimed SE mixing with usual pest WPFC (La.). Seemed to match to stream for WRHC Coral Gables, FL.

FINALLY...a new station, first AM of 2022-23.

860 - KKAT UT, Salt Lake City; mixed with KPAM's Mike Gallagher, an ID for 'Utah's ??? (assumed Big Talker) 860, KKAT' and into another segment of Armstrong & Getty; at 0635 PT 11/4/22. NEW #816, 10KW at 592 miles. Well-wanted, finally in the logs!
I think all I need in SLC is some graveyarders - 1230, 1340 (Heber City) and 1450.

EDIT - 1270 KVMI Tulare CA in full ho-ho-ho mode...a great DX 'beacon' returns.

FYI, WJOL 1340 Joliet, Ill., is off the air at 1:45 p.m. CT on Sat 11/5 because of storm damage at their tower (it's in the middle of a forest). So 1340 is open in the Chicago area.

Bad timing for WJOL, as the big football playoff game between powerhouses Joliet Catholic and Providence Catholic was their afternoon showcase and now it's only online.

Auroral conditions last night, but managed to hear some new stuff:

880 KJOZ Conroe, Texas at 00:17 CST with Spanish language vocals
1150 KRMS Osage Beach, Missouri at 22:30 CST "KRMS Local Information" slogan

Also heard my 4th Mexican on 660 kHz, XEEY Aguascaliente with "Siempre Caliente" slogans and many mentions of FM 102.9

Rather quiet around here lately, but the middle of the AM seemed to have a decent opening at around 4am CST this morning.

950: KOEL, Oelwein, IA. Weak but comfortably on top for about 15 minutes with country music.. Probably 500 watt night power. 160 miles.

960: KLTF Little Falls, MN.. In for TOH ID, then vanished. 5kw day power or 38 watt night power? Take your pick. 380 miles.

Neither of these is a new catch but I haven't heard eeither for several months or more.

Radio Romania International in Hebrew on 7370kHz via Galbeni, Romania to the Middle East at 1731UTC in Alaska. Decent signal and easily understood by a native speaker. Mildly notable because they only air this language once a week for half an hour on sundays
