In the mid and late 60’s I could often get WKBW in Quito, Ecuador after my local Radio Cordillera signed off. Quito is almost due south of Buffalo, so I got the southern edge of their big night pattern!
There seems to be some "pipeline " for stations directly north or south of me. I don't know why that is, but stations that you could draw a direct line to often get good reception.

This time of the year, long-haul AM reception, even during the day, becomes more and more possible. I have been getting WSAI-1530 from Cincinnati (granted, it is 50KW) here in Columbia SC as early as around 2 pm in the afternoon recently. The signal is weak but it is clearly discernible and identifiable.
During the day, mid-afternoon around 2-3 p.m. or so, I've gotten KOA-850 Denver and 880-KRVN very clearly here in central Texas.

Can anyone identify this? Sorry for the noisy recording. The signal was strongest northwest/southeast, but could still be heard south.

At first, with the instrumental music, I was tempted to think it might be Radio Enciclopedia from Cuba (on an auxiliary frequency), but I heard "la Biblia" and "palabra de Dios", which indicates it could be a Christian station.

Possibly a Spanish program from Trans World Radio in Bonaire?

Thanks! That's quite a distance, about 1700 miles it says. I believe the real strong station I heard the other night was probably Mexico.

i think the other one was TWR too, as i said... there are no super powers on 800 from mexico anymore

It's likely the 800 XEERG Monterrey-Montemorelos, Nuevo León.
I received it here, in central Texas, one night, 375 miles away.
Confirmed it with their stream.
RG La Deportiva 92.9 FM

Plus, it was in the 2024 IRCA MEXICAN LOG, 27th Edition that David Eduardo recommended.

But would they be carrying religious programming? XHERG/XEERG is a sports station.

I suppose it's possible that they might carry both kinds of programming, maybe brokering religious content in off-peak hours or something, the way some US cable TV networks do.

In the clip in post #4930, there's an ID starting about 0:20. At 0:25 she says "desde Bonaire", so definitely TWR.

I've never heard XEERG carrying religious programming, but suppose it's possible. I've heard them a few times, always with sports. They're also known for having distorted sound.

I didn't catch that part, my understanding of spoken Spanish is very spotty, but I can clearly hear that now.

It's almost certainly TWR.

Sports weak copy 50 kW with 9 tower array.
Haven't heard them before. Probably radiate very little this way.

Also listen to WBOJ Columbus, GA oldies and WLIK Newport, TN oldies.

800 came in weakly tonight,
XEERGMonterrey-Montemorelos, Nuevo León
372 miles from Austin, Texas.
Matched it with its stream:
RG La Deportiva 92.9 FM
Received it at least 3 other times before, according to my log.

10,000 watts days, 2,500 nights.
Though its Wikipedia article states it's sports talk, have never heard sports talk on the frequency, only music.

Didn't come in loudly tonight, but has previously boomed in
