La iglesia universal is currently on 106.1 but announcing that Aug 1 they will be Moving to 105.3fm Houston. Meaning either Power is no more or they have made a deal with the EX HUSBAND to move to one of his Translatos. Note that 104.5 , 99.5 and 94.1 are available and have not found someone to lease them in a while now. If you download the Radio vision Latina Houston app the logo has been updated to reflect 105.3 as the new dial.

POWER 105.3 GOING AWAY?

I suspect that Power is moving. Where to, I have no idea. Nothing on the Power website about this…have they said anything about it on the air?
There are likely some other things about to happen in the market, but won’t speculate at this time.
Should note that the originating station for K291CE 106.1, namely KJOZ 880, has been off the air for four weeks now.

Something had to give because I know for a fact they were not happy about not being LEGAL meaning with no AM on the air or a HD 106.1 is running Illegally on the air .

Then what will be the originating station for Radio Vision Latina on 105.3? For Power it had recently been KGBC, but 1540 is now a simulcast of the now-downgraded KSEV.

I suspect August 1 will just see a translator shuffle involving Power and Radio Vision Latina. Anyone’s guess where Power goes until they actually announce a change on air.

Power moving to 106.1 would be a downgrade. I'm hearing that even the 105.3 staff is not aware of a change,but it is happening 8/1

Power not knowing about a change doesn’t surprise me. During my career, when we found ourselves in an information vacuum, we would always say “Isn’t it great to be in the communications business?”🤪

On paper, moving from 105.3 to 106.1 should be close to a lateral move, if not an upgrade.

Puro Tejano is asking followers to listen to 106.1 to ask how far it covers.
Who are we talking about here? I remember Puro Tejano as a format name on 100.7 back in the 1990s.🤔
Edit to add: Is this one of the current Tejano HDs on either 101.1 or 102.9? Or a streamer? A search of “Puro Tejano” brings up a lot of things. The Fierro format shows up with the PT branding attached. Or is this the local group that was on KGBC and its 101.7 translator a while back?

This is Houston. The translators seem to preform much better in real life than on paper for some reason. 105.3 is the strongest translator from downtown currently
