Wasn't it just a few months/weeks ago someone was saying they went more urban sounding and showed us the yes dot com plays to back it up? Then I listened and noticed the amount of hip hop hits they were playing which out numbered the dance and pop. I don't think they actually added more hip hop hits, but instead started playing certain pop or dance hits less, although they still sound extremely rhythmic today (once again). As much sense as it may make to remove the slogan, I also don't know how much sense it would REALLY make to be the hip hop leader in L.A., but remove the slogan and adopt something that will make them sound more like any other chr in town (although I don't mind them going more rhythmic at all). Even though the hip hop era has come to an end and the next trend / big thing in sound is rapidly taking over, I don't think the "Where Hip Hop Lives" slogan is hurting them too much. After all, it's been years that they've been "where hip hop lives", even during the times of being LA's Party Station. Maybe it may be time to move on and change with the times and let go of the slogan, but then again, unlike the past, KPWR is now the only station that goes the deepest into current urban hits. I guess they could always be like KKFR and just have no slogan.
