Neither do I. I think they're a pretty awesome CHR lately. I get good vibes listening to them.Justin Case said:LOL -- Channel 96.1 is an aggressive Top 40 station -- I don't get a Radio Disney vibe at all from them.
When the February PPM's come out and they start (Kiss 951) to see a downing trend, something needs to change. However, budget cuts could be a factor or even a disadvantage for CBS right now but I don't know if that's a good excuse to "not act swiftly" and get back to the level of Channel 96.1. We will have to see how the next couple of months go for Kiss. I don't know if music is a good reason one, but perhaps good management is making them falter - maybe?!? Channel is really running the show for now but Channel can't boast and go overboard. How long can they take the lead is something that I will and a lot of your "posters" be noticing for the next couple of months for both Channel and Kiss. When Clear Channel knows how to focus on how to make a good CHR (Z100/FLZ/G105) - they really do know how to get the ratings. It's proven. Kiss, on the other hand - I don't know. I only listen to B96, which is owned and operated under CBS is a good rythmatic-leaning CHR.carolinaradio said:Kiss letting Ace & TJ slip through their fingers was a MAJOR blow to them. I agree that they had time for a better quality morning show instead of such a subpar replacement.
When Ace & TJ went to 96.1, they took a lot of listeners from Kiss that potentially will never go back. Kiss needs some reason to listen to them over Channel, and I can't think of one - 96.1 plays "all the hits" (unlike 96.1, as mentioned, who ignores some 'hits'), has a better airstaff - the only thing I can think 95.1 has going for them is heritage, which in the end doesn't get you by forever. They need to just be different than Channel, instead of trying to compete for that audience...
(oh, and above, I meant CBS CHR's, not AC's...don't know why I put that)

Absolutely. 92.7 FM was the last to do it.bchristi said:Power 98 must have just been more uptempo last week because it was CIAA week. This week they have been back to their heavily R&B/slow jamz lean. I think there is definitely a market in Charlotte for a more uptempo urban or rhythmic station.
