If Dave made so much money for everyone why would they let him go with a couple years left on his contract?

The business of radio today is a far different model than even 5 years ago.
Where once big salaries were the norm for morning show personalities, today that is not the case.
Yes, Tim & Willy are doing well in their new seats, but overall, it's going to be few and far between for
even the big radio companies to pay the money they don't have and can't get through decreasing ad
revenue.
There should be no doubt that Dave has done very well in his career.
By cutting Dave loose with time left on his contract, they have cut the bleeding somewhat financially.
Seems odd, but the future of high paid morning talent will be diminished.
Sad, but it is what it is.
