Day number ???? since Mr. Microphone was completely wrong.
Completely.
Apparently whoever is responsible for the new Nickel & Dime radio stations does not feel the importance of the online brand presence; online interaction, online streaming, texting, or anything related to contemporary radio broadcasting. (Radio Broadcasting circa 1994 - their right on it.)
Here the good news Mr. Microphone. I agree with you that WEEI is a good format choice. No kidding, I do. However, before you start trumpeting the 100k (not quite) they are spending for it, you need to do a couple of things:
1. Subtract any current programming costs. If they're laying off 1 or 2 employees; what is the net cost?
2. Subtract out above additional empoyee expenses (Social Security Match, Health Insurance Cost, and related taxes)
Remember that a 100K (not) WEEI fee has no health insurance, social security or payroll tax costs.
I have to think you understand and get this. I sure as heck hope so or you definitely have very limited business knowledge. If it costs you 100K (not) and you cut 50K (TOTAL EMPLOYEE EXPENSE), it's not costing 100K (not)
1. I don't know how to spell it out for you any different. WHEN I SAID THE WEB ISSUE WAS RESLOVED, I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE GMAIL/COORPORATE DOMAIN...NOT THE STATION WEBSITES. I HAVE ALREADY SAID IF THE OTHER POSTS WERE WRONG IN THE HYSTERICAL THREAD (specifically, Joe McMillan saying he received an email from their domain), SO WAS I. Yes, I was wrong, I was wrong, I was wrong...ok...I am a man and I can admit that (although I had already said that in another post, but you seemed to ignore that for the sake of your argument).
As for the "their online brand." I also said in another post (you really doesn't read too good, does you?) that the online presence is important as it helps to enhance your brand. BUT, no one has ever just turned the radio because a station didn't have a website. THE ON AIR SIGNAL IS THE PRIORITY. I am also not so bitter that I don't give the company time to get things in order. If they don't have websites up and running in, say, three months, I'd wonder what they are thinking.
2. OH YAY!!! Adbuyer agrees with me!! Someone who has probably never been on the air or programmed a radio station agrees with me...my day, month, year and decade have been made!!! Yeah, you are right, the 100k is minus other expenses, but...it is also an UP FRONT cost. If you're "cheap", you don't put the horse before the cart by buying a group of stations and investing that sort of money, especially in this economy. And, I stand by the 100K (like I said in another post, that was for another station in another market...but like most everything I post, you didn't seem to comprehend it).
You REALLY seem to hate Blue Berry. Did one of the owners steal your girlfriend before??
