Ok gang, we had our wish lists, now it's time for a tradition and that is predictions for DC, Richmond and Hampton Roads. I will include DC given that I go to Northern Va and DC a lot in my spare time, please bear in mind that these probably will not happen, but it's worth a shot!
Washington: Expect a MAJOR shake up at DC101 when Elliot leaves for Sirius to do afternoons on Stern's station. Don and Mike leave Live 106.7 to do AM drive for DC101 and end up with a LARGE radio network. Live 106.7 will end up losing The Sports Junkies due to low ratings and sadly, a great station will end up belly up with only Mancow in the morning then holding it up along with the redksins on sundays. Elsewhere, WTOP will hit number 1 and Z104 will go sports talk with the Junkies in the morning. WHUR will be right behind WTOP and as for Mix107.3, they finally break down and get rid of the DJ's and go back to the sucessful 80's station Q107.
Richmond: WWLB will go jockless until the first week in Feb. Going to end up being the best of Richmond radio past, merging into one station. Radio One will continue to be the top draw and somehow, someway, Cox will throw in the towel. CC will bring in D&M from DC to do mornings on WRXL to replace elliot and the X by the end of the year will hit the top 5 due to Don and Mike in the morning becoming a huge smash. WDYL goes to a 96X like hybrid as they pick up Mancow in the morning. WRIR will get to their new tower and be able to attract more listeners for their base. WCVE goes all classical except for Morning Edition and All Things Considered. One last thing, The planet has a DEEPER drop because of Hungate's departure and landing on 96.9 The Rock. It does cover north of the river in MOST areas. Planet drops below the top 10 for a bulk of the year.
Hampton Roads: In a deal that Stern had with KLSX where the owners didn't have to worry about the FCC when Stern did something they hated, CC makes a deal with MAX105 and puts in D&M into the Hampton Roads market. Hot102 will end up going down the drain even though things are getting back online for them. The station's owner sells tehe station and the station becomes a feed for the Tide, but still the tide suffers that playlist from hell and will never recover from it. 103Jamz will still be number one along with 2WD. 96X is finally switched over to 106.1, switching up with The Zone. 106.1 the X keeps Mancow and the ratings stay the same. As for Zone, it's tough going. Stronger signal, but still trying to go after so many stations, it's going to be a hard sell.
