New Orleans Predictions for 103.7 NoLa and 104.1 BR

I thought the move it was just that, take 104.1 off air, change or increase power and retune the combiner and run it from there?
Cause I'm surprised Mike Costello hasn't lodged a complaint with FCC yet on the short spacing of 104.1 now they are advertising as Gonzales on TOH for last few months .
KVDU (104.1) and WFFX (103.7) have to move at the same time according to the construction permit. I don't know how far along they are equipment-wise, but it may take a while. I can tell you there are still delays in getting new broadcast equipment.

100%. Some transmitter orders right now are still 5-7 months behind due to lack of parts. Similar delays exist for antennas and other equipment.

I predict there will be a new Urban or Urban AC for Baton Rouge.
I hope not unless it's all classics. We already have MAX and Q. I personally am predicting WJBO FM. But hoping for a Rock station. Like 92.5 Biloxi. Can't handle Eagle. Stop sets too long. 5 minute talk breaks.

WJBO FM is possible, but the 98.7 translator usually has decent coverage over Baton Rouge area. But a new Urban or Urban AC on 104.1 is still possible because of Baton Rouge's high Black population and possibility to chip into the existing Urbans' success. Some other possible formats would be Classic Rock to attract Eagle's older listeners, or maybe old school Hip Hop like 96.3 in Nola. But I feel like Urban AC or WJBO FM are most likely to be the 104.1's format.

also if WJBO moves to 104.1 they will have to put something else on the AM and the translator. This may not be a good move because the WJBO AM is the heritage AM news station in BR. AM listeners will not be happy with this change

104.1 is a full class C. Look at a coverage map the 60 DB is huge. If they do put WJBO on 104.1 it will be a major signal improvement. Loosing the AM audience might not be an issue. There aren't a lot of AM only radios. I sure they will do the math if they go with the way that will get them the most revenue.

Why? WWL is also in 105.3. Both full power stations

WWL AM and FM are just regular full power AM-FM simulcasts. But WJBO is a AM-Low power translator combo. If WJBO moves to 104.1 they will either have to put a new format on the AM and the translator or give up the translator because translators can't be the source of a station. Translators are requires to repeat either AM or HD subchannels.

KVDU was a full class C. The Vacherie tower has been gone for a while now.

Well I still see a possibility of 104.1 becoming an Urban or Urban AC because Max94.1 and Q106.5 are the only choices for Hip Hop/R&B in BR besides Hot 107.9 and Q93, but Hot gets beat to death by tropo at night, and Q93 doesnt even have a good enough signal in BR. So another Urban or Urban AC might pull 106 and/or Max down to let WFMF into the top 3. And plus some people dont want to hear DL Hughley yapping every afternoon on 106

Whatever it is, what are the chances IHeart goes for LSU rights in Baton Rouge, like they did in Austin with the Longhorns? I don’t think iHeart would make a move like this, without that in mind

iHeart did this in order to change the markets on two FMs it owns: to go from one station in market #50 (104.1) and one in market #205 (103.7) to having one in #50 (103.7, backfilling 104.1) and one in #78 (104.1). Replacing Laurel/Hattiesburg for Baton Rouge has a lot more revenue potential. That's the driver...
