Predictions for Atlanta Radio in 2008

Chris Dimino will use the words "actually" and "infamous" superfluously and/or improperly 3,456,312 times in his ongoing effort to sound marginally intelligent.

Now that's funny!

750/WSB: Chris Krok will get a syndication deal as Clark Howard resigns to run for mayor of Atlanta.

Ummm...this will clearly not happen. Even if the "rumor" today turns out to be false, I guarantee Krok won't be getting syndication deals. Howard may still run for mayor, but I seriously doubt that as well. He's going to be like the Fred Thompson of local politics - talks a good game up front, probably would do some good, but just doesn't have it in him to actually do what needs to be done in order to run.

For 2008:

1690 Air Atlanta resurfaces and dominates talk radio.

640 WGST rehires the Kimmer and lets him program the whole station, since no one is listening anyway.

Q100 will still be affected by everything else that happens in the market, and people will still ask that question....How will this affect Q100?

Steve and Vicki have secretly been taking Spanish courses, and will resurface on 105.3.

Chris Krok takes over Afternoon Drive on the River, and rules!

Randy and Spiff reunite, and take over Mornings on Project 96.1.

The Bull goes Contemporary Christian, and the Fish is forced to go Spanish.

Ok, ok, only one of these is going to be true. Can you guess which one?

Funny!
105.7 fm change format again. adios Viva!

Some sort of oldies format will re-surface perhaps on AM, but it will be short-lived. At least it will oldies fans some short termed relief.
99X will flip to a "Lite" format filling the void left from 94.9.

I WILL be elected PD at 929 Radio Atlanta.

I WILL make it more of a Progressive/AAA format.

I WILL make all the naysayers, I'm looking at you Clarkie, eat their words.

Rodney Ho will actually ferret out a story on his own without any help from me.

Brisket will continue to annoy listeners and co-workers to the point that Bell, Domino or Cellini leave.

Steve and Vicki will NOT come back on the air.

Jimmy Baron will resurface at WSB.

Chris Krok will be a footnote along with Denny Schaffer and Ian Punnett in Atlanta Radio History.

99X will finally get Leslie off the air in favor of a younger talent. (Hey Leslie, there may be room for you at Radio Atlanta.)

The Falcons will sign with WSB and no one will notice.

WGST will not be rated in the Winter '08 book due to having a 0.0.

Sunny 100.1 will continue to dominate the ratings despite being off the air for over one year.

Lastly; I will piss off everyone on this board at least once.

I'm guessing I'm the "Clarkie" you're looking at? Get in reality, Millman. PD's aren't elected.

Back to your delusions...

He could be addressing me, although he knows I'm only kidding him. Millman's a decent character. :)

The 2 Live Stews will continue referring to their audience as "dogs and poodles", despite the fact that this is the same as saying "golf clubs and nine irons", or "whiskey and Jack Daniel's".

The Falcons will take their broadcasts in-house as is a growing trend in pro sports. The word is that Falcons brass has been considering this for a while and has been less than pleased with the way CBS has presented/promoted the broadcasts.

790 will shuffle their lineup again and wonder why 680 is consistently beating their butts.
Oh, I'm sorry. They just did it again!
Guess they had to do more cost cutting before the new year.
If they continue to make such awful programming decisions, they may be speaking Spanish in 2008.

Bell goes to afternoons, Krok is gone, and I'm pissed off about something (although it's not Neil's fault yet). This is why I worship at the alter of the Millman.
