From All Access:

"The End" Is Nigh At 96 Rock/Atlanta
Is This The Future Look For 96 Rock?
As first tipped on ALL ACCESS, the format changes are starting on CLEAR CHANNEL/ATLANTA, with Classic Rock WKLS (96 ROCK) telling listeners that it will change at 9a ET FRIDAY.
The station's website is defaulting to a page that sports "1974-2006" beneath the station's logo and a statement inviting listeners to "witness the end of 96 ROCK. And be part of a new beginning for 96.1 FM." Will the station launch a new "PROJECT" at that time? And will the format ultimately land on something more Active?
The station is running jockless with promos talking about how "we're not sure we've lived up to that name... 'rock'" lately and "all that changes" at 9a. (ALL ACCESS notes that PROJECT961.COM is password-protected site as of early FRIDAY but gives a message indicating that the server is "WKLS-FM.clearchannel.com Port 80")
