Proposed tower?

I am seen a sign that says there is a proposal for 100 foot tower on 909 2/3 North Shepherd Houston Texas 77008. Is this a tower for an antenna for a radio station or a translator? Anyone know?

It could be any kind of communications tower, not just radio.

And, of course, a "translator" is a radio station.

It's a cellphone tower by Crown Castle. The proposal calls for it to be located at the southwest tip of the shopping center parking lot.

Does your Google not work, or something?

I just glanced at the sign thank you very much 🙄.

100ft for radio tv or cell tower is not that high really now 350ft+ would be something worth talking about

100 feet would work well for cell service in flat areas. Maybe even overkill for 5G in some places.
Google only works if you already know what you're looking for. Not everybody knows how to peruse FCC and local zoning files. That's why we are all here...to help.

It's not overkill. All carriers implement some form of tilt. Also, all major carriers won licenses in the C-Band, so site density will be important moving forward. Small cells don't do well indoors due to output restrictions, so don't be surprised to see more towers show up around town in the future. Specifically in areas with a lot of people (this area has apartments and shopping plaza).

Crown Castle likely plans to sell this macro tower to more than just one tenant. 100 ft means that more than one rack can be installed.

I didn't type in anything he didn't provide on Google. Found the info he wanted on the Houston Chronicle. As a matter of fact, he probably would have found all the info he wanted if he read the sign properly. At this point, these type of posts are his modus operandi. Nobody is this feckless in real life, which is why I asked.

I did a Google search on that address initially, and found the same business and real estate ads. I figured it's just like my neighborhood...lots of strip malls and food joints.
Extenet Systems is doing the nearby ones here. Also, looks like two other companies in the same neighborhood.
Someone else is doing Salt Lake City proper, with large, fat poles that may be 100 feet, but they are around taller buildings and multi-story housing.

Looks like tower is being installed, unless it’s unrelated. But I’m watching a long black pole being installed right now.
