Regardless of what people may think of Joanie I think she delivers what her audience expects. The show itself may be pulled in different directions but that's another matter. I just don't see Whoopi on Coast, budgetary reasons or not,if Joanie's presence is generating ad dollars. Also,a couple of points that might not really affect the decision are(1)It's some sort of effort to bring women back to morning radio. That's already being done at Coast.(2)Whoopi is 5-9AM. If Delilah stays, that leaves 11 hours to fill before 8PM & it's 11 hours to fill with 2 jocks. A 3rd jock would almost have to be added, resulting in shorter shifts between 9AM & 8PM assuming Delilah stays. If the Coast morning show isn't meeting expectations,& I'm not saying it isn't,there are other things that can be done besides complete demolition. Going with Whoopi would be too much. I'm sure Clear Channel is going to use her on underperforming stations. Then again, complete demolition of shows hasn't been out of the question in the past on Oxford Street so what do I know?
