Pugs and (no) Kelly

I noticed 1190 was playing classic rock this afternoon. And their website just calls the station 1190AM. Have they dumped the classic country for good?

With all the (cheap) programming resources Clear Channel has CC-Dallas could do a hell of a lot more with 1190 than treat it like a 250w daytimer.

No, it's still Classic Country

I checked yesterday and yep, they were still playing classic country in the morning and I was surprised to hear a female announcer mentioning songs, programs and traffic.

Still 1190's a big unfocused junkpile image-wise of old country music, brokered programs, sports and CNN news.

Listeners who want to hear news or talk will tune out when they hear Charley Pride, old country fans will tune out when they hear long news blocks. 1190 should be a news-talk station or a classic country station. It can't be both.

It's the vacant lot of radio real estate. Some days it's a car lot, some days a tee shirt tent, some days a taco stand is parked there.
Wish we kids could use it for a playground.....
