Pump Those Brakes, Centro Cristiano de Vida Eterna...

That would pretty much sum it up for me, C-Dub. Shame you didn't get the chance to attach it to 1300.

Its relevant, even if the FCC links no longer work. At that time I was following other things, so I wasn't aware that HCB was doing the exact same thing they are now crying foul on when other broadcasters do it...

It's a pretty big stretch calling the translator hoppers "broadcasters." Lying, opportunistic cockroaches would be a more fitting term.

Like CW pointed out, they have serious candor issues. The translator that filed for a license to cover from a tower that no longer existed in Beaumont is the least of them. Some of the signals now on the air in Houston told the Commission they were rebroadcasting stations they never had any sort of agreement in place to rebroadcast before they hopped. Were they ever on the air at all at the hops between their original CP and Houston?

Probably not...a lot of times, they file for someone they think wont notice or dont care....Hell, Estring had filed in their 107.7 xlator in BMT (now on 107.5) it would repeat LBI's 107.9...now we ALL know that is technically impossible when its that far from the 107.9 xmtr without serious interference issues...but it was all a ploy to sell it to Martin who wanted a FM signal for KZZB (which is up for sale now it seems).....

K256CC filed saying they would repeat KODA on 99.1 on (wait for it)......................99.1!! using OTA reception...WOW, I WANT to see that done!!
Now the filing for the 98.9 move claims the same..uh huh...like that will work?? I think its time to file against this sale...I won some against Estring in its Martin sale.....the FCC CAN admonish and file against previous filings though time has passed IF the filer was not truthful to the Commission...and it can easily proven here they weren't.......NO engineer can make that 99.1/98.9 work receiving 99.1 KODA almost 100miles away....soooo anyone want to file with me?? :)

Thankfully, I have the FCCs own words in the Final R&O on K298/K299 signal in BMT to quote on this one...(ooops)....I am talking to two new lawyers tomorrow...one has fought my "previous" lawyer in the past and won.....should prove to be interesting...

and Joe's post on the malpractice is interesting....Dan can be vindictive when pushed against a wall...a friend told me of the crap Dan put them and others through in the past....so I have to be prepared....

Let the paperwork be filed!!

Somebody was doing a first adjacent translator in Florida - a lot of vertical separation on the tower, pointing the bays the opposite direction of the receive antenna, and the narrow ceramic filter trick on the OTA tuner. I forget who it was, but I think it might have been a Christian station out of Vero Beach. I'll have to look it up - it was impressive to hear, knowing how difficult it was to engineer.

If the OTA signal is strong, it's possible...KHKS had a translator on 106.3 in downtown Dallas when its 106.1 was still close to Denton...but then the OTA signal was STRONG... KODA is into its 40 or 50 dbU contour in Winnie...a repeat on 98.9 is technically impossible.. IMHO

The CP for 98.9 K255CV Winnie was granted. It's still Juan's.

It doesn't? That's nuts!
Well nobody filed against it, so I guess people are afraid to say stuff?

I've noticed that Centro Cristiano de Vida Eterna has CPs for full power stations on 100.7 in Palacios and 106.1 in Matagorda along with a translator on 107.3 in Sealy (which has applied to move to 107.9 in Rosenberg).

I also saw where KSBJ's deal to acquire KROY has fallen through.

Can you share the call signs?

Also it looks like THE WORSHIP CENTER OF KINGSVILLE's K296FR 107.1 in El Campo has a CP to move to Rosenberg that expires in June. I hope they can make it and get a new engineer to finish it off if they still want to upgrade......

I've read this K296FR operator is a good one actually.
