I listen to q104 most of the time and also sample wrxp and wrat. With that said I find q104s playlist to be very stale and has become very repeditive. It seems that in the past few weeks some of the newer songs and artists have been removed from the play list. These would include the few STP, PearlJam and Greenday cuts that have been played for a few years. This seems to be confirmed by checking Yes.com. Why would Q104 make these adjustments when rating are good and they should be seeking younger listeners? At the same time CBS-FM is adding more classic rock to their playlist. I assume both stations are fighting for classic rock listeners and thats the reasons for the adjustments. One thing is certain now is the time for WRXP to steer away from classic and focus on newer rock.... Whats your take on NYC rock radio? It doesn't seem to be headed in the right direction but corp. researches know best.
