q95

I don't think sales would be any less because Ace is on the air, but from a listeners' point of view, those of us old enough to remember the past 20 years, Ace is a 'friendly' voice that works for Q.

i agree. ace has always been there and people know him and want to listen... they dont want new people all the time.. they wasnt ace, the dog and jay baker. the q legends

Cosby - Baker, they sound comfortable and like they belong on a rock station. Dog, not so much.

Fall '09 ARB 12+ - 5.6.

Make all your arguments about "12+ not mattering," "it's the demo ratings that are important," what ever.

I have NEVER seem Q 12+ numbers SO LOW. Is that the result of all the heritage jocks being taken off the air, or is that why all the heritage jocks were taken off the air? ???

The same thing is happening in other CC markets. Long time (25+year) personalities are being fired, not being replaced or shift being
voice tracked. Ultimately, the listener does not recognize the voice or name, shrugs their shoulders, says "WTH" and goes on to another
station. The listeners' loyalty to that station is gone.

It's my impression that from the listener perspective, Q95 still HAS it's heritage personalities: Bob & Tom. Nothing against anyone else there, past or present, but when a listener thinks Q95, there's Bob & Tom...and there's everybody else. As long as the morning show is on the air, Q95 listeners will be happy, and spots will continue to sell.

I completely disagree. When you have two country stations in one market, are you going to stop listening to both because your favorite jock is shown the door? Not likely - only radio people think like that.

Q finally has legit competition. Baker and Cosby are 'comforting' to hear, but I'm not shutting the music off if they aren't there. WHO CARES? You listen to a format for the FORMAT! Unless you're 12 years old. People tune in for the music selection. If there's a drop in listeners, start with the playlist.

depends. if they can a good jock. and bring in someone that sucks. i change the channel. if it sounds like canned sat feed or some v-track that is obviously a track i change the chan. if the "jock" speaks and it sounds like lines are just being read of a card. i change the chan.

needless to say. I dont listen to much broadcast anymore due to the canned sat feeds. lame v-tracking, and canned card readers. you want to keep people like me tuned in you have to make it entertaining and worth it, or imma just pop in a cd or load up a mp3 in vlc

I think I'll go to the bathroom while the weekly ranting open line caller is on... good to hear a JC native on the board. Walnut street.

Once he had a ranting preacher on (fuzzy memory but I think that was it)...the preacher didn't realize that nearly every ad spot was from the adult book stores, theaters, and every sleazy place in town...he he
