Yup, CH 143 on FiOS. I'm guessing they'll run it until there's nothing left but color bars or they ask for more $ at that time they'll make it Ultimate tier only to watch the color bars. ;Dding12 said:Likely once Disney secures a deal for Disney Jr. on all or most of the major systems. Suppose it's a question for Disney. I think Fios still carries SoapNet.

The TW systems in and around Albany, NY still carry it as well as Disney Junior.Mastaclocksetta said:Time Warner L.A. still carries SoapNet on channel 152. Anyone else's Time Warner systems still carry it?
mrschimpf said:As for SOAPNet, at this point it's just a server running things on loop that only costs the transponder space and the per-episode running rights for episodes (along with the licensing fees for the NBC and CBS soaps), which are all mostly in ABC Family's budget. It could go on forever if it wanted, and a digital cable channel takes up nearly no space in the 100's. Nick GAS ran for years on Dish long after it officially 'ended', for instance, and you could argue that VH1 Soul and CMT Pure Country only exist at this point for package number reasons and not any ratings.

The TW systems in New England still carry it.

What if Disney essentially substitutes SoapNet for ABC Family in contracts over time, and then ends up with a channel with no 700 Club? They could then rebrand it "ABC Spark" like its Canadian counterpart. Or, heck, even if they keep ABC Family, rebrand SoapNet as ABC Spark, and use it to program more acquired series and library content, as the originals continue to take over ABC Family.
