Donna, maybe you can solve a long time mystery for me. When I was young my Dad would take me to the top of the Custom House Tower, next door on India
Street was the Boston Board of Trade building. Until the late 60's this building had 4 self supporting towers (one in each corner) and I always wondered what they were for. The towers were identical to those removed two weeks ago from the WBZ Westinghouse factory in West Springfield.
Why I now bring this up is I found another clue, tonight I was thumbing through Images of America: Boston, a century of progress. Low and behold on
page 38 are not only the towers but some type of antenna strung between both pairs with some feeders faintly appearing.
Any ideas....I would love to finally solve this after all these years.
