I wasn't there in 1982, theAguy, so I don't know about that, but there was WAY too much drinking I observed in 1991-1993, which I found unprofessional and upsetting. This is people NOT involved per se with our Sunday night show though even some of the staff too indulged way too much for my liking.
It is one of the reasons I left to do my own thing.
Also, Anthony, thank you for noting that the old days were great but I'm not "bragging", a couple of certain individuals like to go on the attack every once in awhile. If I don't respond they let misinformation linger in cyberspace, if I do respond it's "bragging", whatever.
I had a great formula for WCGY and was consulting the P.D. on many things up there - how do you think
The Black Crowes got 3 songs on a playlist in one week? The formula was to go Modern Rock and give
FNX some competition (this is when WBCN was Oldies 104 with Freebird and many WZLX tunes on the playlist) so that we could sell the station to The Phoenix. Everyone would've won, including The Phoenix, which would've obtained a 50,000 watt signal. The idea was ignored and WBCN jumped on it down the road for other reasons - not to sell the station to FNX but to obliterare FNX.
C'est La Vie! There was too much turmoil swirling around...Trevor was not hungry (not when he could barter out dinners all the time)
