Question for you Sports Radio Guys

Could not sleep the other night and tuned into JT.

Is it just me or is the show the biggest train wreck on the radio?

Looney kept interupting JT and they just kept talking over themselves. Just terrible radio.

I agree with oakas, JT would be so much better if he didn't have that damn Looney putting his worthless two cents in, talking over him and correcting callers, screaming at me about football etc. JT is now on in the middle of the night now, so of course no one listens when he calls out fans of a team. I laugh everytime he does that "lets check the super doppler steroid plus radar, this is how many *INSERT TEAM* fans I have on hold" of course you have none on hold they are asleep or have better things to do than call to your screaming. While I am ranting, what the heck is this "TALLLLMM!" thing he does when he hangs up on most of his lame callers? Sorry but fast paced, high energy sports radio does not work in the middle of the night especially when the callers stink.

Awful. Another show where the callers rehearse their calls and no one talks like a human being, including the host. Actually, all of the sports shows overnight are terrible. Jason Smith has no caller interaction but at least it's relatively limited shtick, David Stein talks about warm-fuzzies and how your day was, where's the sports? JT screams and yells and wants every caller to be a broadcast professional, all the while Looney is doing celebrity gossip. I reiterate, why can't we have a sports talk show where people just talk sports, and speak in a normal fashion like human beings.

We're fortunate in the Phoenix market to have a host like Bob Kemp. Sure he's a bit stuffy and rigid, but he does a fantastic show, well researched and opinionated but not ridiculous.. and when callers are on the air the host actually engages in a conversation with them, imagine that!

Well, The JT the Brick Show is fashioned after the Jim Rome Show, but at least you can understand most of the lingo on the JT show.

They are great. JT doesn't put up with the BS from fangirls and bad callers. Talk radio used to be where there was exchanges between hosts and callers. Now it's mainly hosts yacking about anything and everything.

JT the Brick is the number one nighttime talk show host for a reason. He is good at what he does.

Oakas has wanted JT gone for almost a decade. Oakas promotes hacks who lose there jobs every two years and then team up with their girlfriend or move to another market. Why don't you admitt that you are Ben Maller or Bruno's update anchor......Isaac Lowenkron ???

You stll don't get it. Programming a local station vs a national syndicate is like comparing apples to oranges. Local stations NEED drive time revenue. Only a moron would argue that. Syndication NEEDS to clear their spots. It's about grabbing as many affiliates as possible to clear those NATIONAL spots.

One problem to that argument.

IT WORKS BEST ONLY IN THE EASTERN TIME ZONE

Once you enter the Central time zone & head further west, that argument becomes more & more of an issue (Especially in the AM). Only a radio pro from an ET station would argue that it isn't an issue. That's why you have stations like KEPN & KKFN struggling to figure out what they can put in the AM Drive (Local program or national program)

If I were programming a local station you HAVE to HAVE a strong AM & PM Drive, along w/ strong Mid Day programming.

Which can be done with a LOCAL show. It doesn't take a radio pro (Of which I'm not BTW) to see that

Umm.....You might wanna tell that to Fox Sports Net & its affiliates. I could swear they insist that it's a MORNING show on FSR.....

Again, we're not having the same argument, b/c I think you've misconstrued what the differences between local & national.

And I think you seem to think that you think that what's good for ET stations is good for everyone WHICH IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE because those of us here in Denver don't wanna be listening to a MID-MORNING show from New York while those of us who drive to work ARE STILL DOING SO because we don't get up at 3:00 AM when the ET morning shows come on at 5:00 AM ET.

Hate to say it dude, but I TOTALLY disagree with you on this one.....

Gee.....I always thought MICROWAVE OVENS got hot. Not microphones. I must be talking into THE WRONG THING on my computer when I do my Internet shows. It's a wonder ANYBODY hears me..... *Perplexed Look*
