R.I.P. KGO

Did 10-1 shift in place of Dr. Bill Sat. & Sun. Did a good job imho. Does two hour show 3-5 for Fox News Radio. Hope he sticks with KGO.

I've heard Spencer fill in for Tom Sullivan on KFBK. That may mean Spencer is connected to Fox News Radio...which may mean his show is syndicated.

Like most fill-in hosts today, he phones it in. Well, he may be present in the KGO studio, but he can do it from home, too, as can Christine Craft, Peter B. Collins, Stacy Taylor, Karel, etc.

It's interesting how much talk there is on the L.A. board about KGO. The speculation is what happened in San Francisco will probably happen in L.A.

.

KLOS or KABC doing all news against KNX. that is still a possiblity.

KABC has been in the dumper far longer than KGO - it's been killed in the ratings by KFI for probably at least a decade now, and a number of respected PDs have been unable to improve it. It is interesting that Cumulus would try this experiment on KGO first - not KABC. But I believe KABC has been running mostly syndicated programming, so it's probably cheaper to run than KGO was.

But KABC is an impaired signal competitively, while KGO is as good an AM signal as you could have for San Francisco.

KLOS bills as much as KNX.

KABC can't compete with the KNX signal.
