Radio Aleluya

Yes they are indeed testing. Read on their new site that they will be testing the new site throughout the week, and will be on the air by the end of August with 5kw.

A 1:30pm check today has KBRZ on the air simulcasting with KILE. Very definitely NOT 5kw yet. At my Cy-Fair location the 1460 and 1560 signals are pretty much the same strength.

You are right, I have checked them a couple of times throughout the day and they must still be running 1kw from Freeport. Very shaky signal at best. Interesting to note, that KBRZ has broken the simulcast and as it was stated in another thread, KILE is stunting with oldies I assume until the launch on Monday. I would think they'd fire up the 50kw during this stunt to make sure everything's a go come Monday. How embarrassing would it be to launch on Monday and something fail at the new transmitter site? I know I sure wouldn't mind hearing a true oldies station over the weekend, while I put-put around Houston.

Not sure if KBRZ is still on the old Freeport location or the new site. At my Cy-Fair location both are virtually in the same direction, so the "null test" doesn't tell much. Perhaps someone in a location where the sites are at right angles could get a definitive fix.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that the 1kw rig is no longer at Freeport...that location is no longer an AM site, all the AM gear has been moved over to the new Sugarland transmitter site.

Texas Tuner

Hi purpledevil,

I live in the Brazosport area and have been checking 1460 each day several times since this thread started, and there's nothing but dead air. As TexasTuner stated previously, it looks like Elvis has left the building at the old KBRZ in Freeport.
