You do seem to be jetting around the planet a lot of late...! 8)
Ireland has six national networks on FM, one of which (2FM) is very similar in concept to Radio 1 if a bit less 'cutting edge' at night. It's provided by the public broadcaster RTE which fills a similar role to the BBC in Ireland.
There are also a number of regional and local broadcasters, although in rural areas (like County Kildare) stations may get a bit thin on the ground, and generally speaking local commercial stations in Ireland aren't as CHR-oriented as in the UK - they tend to target an older (and broader) audience. Here's a projected bandscan of the strong stations in and around the town of Kildare. The more powerful 10kW Dublin stations may be audible too, as might be some local stations from the surrounding counties, (e.g. KCLR on 96.9 from Carlow)... Dublin itself also does have a number of small community licences (and a few pirates) which I haven't listed.
Phantom 105.2 in Dublin I personally think is one of the best rock/alternative stations out there, and definately worth listening if you like that sort of thing

. If you like dance, Spin 103.8 might be worth a listen.
