The only examples that I can think of right off the top of my head in Albany....
In 1984, WQBK-FM dropped their long time Q-104 handle when they dropped free form progressive rock.
In 1987, when they flipped to classic rock, they brought back the old Q-104 handle. In 1994, they dropped it again, when they flipped to modern rock and became "The Edge". At the end of 2005, they dropped "The Edge" slogan when reverting to more of a classic rock format again, and became Q-103, no doubt because they had added the 103.5 frequency, several years earlier, and using Q-104 really wouldn't have made sense in that case. Two months later, WZMR grabbed the discarded "Edge" slogan and format, which they are still using...Back in 1970, WFLY dropped classical for A Top 40/Oldies format and was known as "92.3 W-FLY-Stereo". That format only lasted for a little over a year, and than they reverted to classical again....... Several years later they reverted to a Top 40 format again and were similarly known as FLY-92...or these days as FLY-92.3...
