Radio w/pictures (Channel 25 testing)

Channel 25 is testing their new digital channel. It's on UHF 47, but maps to 25.1 - 25.4.

25 is on 25.1
38 is on 25.2.
Color bars is on 25.3
Tower cam is on 25.4

I'm in Fairfield, and it's coming in great with a rooftop antenna. Anybody else getting it?

I am getting it OK in Sharonville with rabbit ears. I like how WBQC displays as WKRP-TV on my tuner.

100% signal in Oxford with a rooftop. Very nice.

The PSIP for 25.3 reads WBQC-TV. Is WKRP going to be a new digital-only service/why isn't 38 there?

Talked today via phone w/Elliott Block owner of the new WKRP.

http://www.wbqc.com/

1.) They are some severe audio issues on 25.1 and 25.4 and they are working on it
"as we speak"
2.) They are adding a fifth sub-channel very soon.
3.) 25.2 will stay WKRP (old WBQC)
4.) 25.3 will probably be a shopping channel
5.) 25.5 will probably will be a weather channel/with skyline shots (nice!)
6.) He's in contact with RTN and Univision as possible choices in the future.
Stay tuned.

BTW: Let's move this discussion ofs this board since it's not radio specific.

Is the WKRP call letter deal a stunt? They still belong to a couple of Tennessee LPTVs and there's no application for a change.

Thanks Rob, but it doesn't answer my question. It will be somewhat confusing if they're legally WBQC, but call themselves WKRP. The WKRP calls are still officially licensed elsewhere and there doesn't seem to be an application for transferring them elsewhere. Will WKRC have a problem with that?

Odd...I am getting it in the central part of town with a bow tie antenna and I could never get his 25 or 38 signal where I am.

Did he move sticks to KRC's? Hey, how can he claim trademark on WKRP??? Who owns MTM Enterprises? And he's not running WKRP?

There is no such station as WKRP-LD. Until he gets the call letters from the FCC, he can't use them. There is still no FCC record of any WKRP in the Cincinnati area.

Don't shoot the messenger dude!
I'm just telling you what the owner told me and what shows up on my digital television under 25.2 - WKRP.
If you're that botherd call the FCC and report the station in violation of whatever....

It is true...and just announced on Fox News.com. The station has officially taken the call letters "WKRP" (LP)

Then I guess none of those news sources bothered to look past Elliot Block's press release to check the FCC's web site. WKRP is still on two stations in Tennessee. Look for the tiny WBQC ID every hour. It will have to be there.

There is no official station in Cincinnati with the call letters WKRP. He can call his station by any nickname he wants, but contrary to what these reports say, he did not "change" call letters to WKRP. Ask the FCC:

I'm surprised that the people at WKRC hasn't sent a cease & desist yet because it could cause confussion with Channel 12. and i'm sure the FCC isn't gonna really allow 2 tv stations to have simular calls
