Hi, I'm not so new here. Long time reader, first time poster.
I can confirm that Randall's contract was not renewed. I got this from 3 department heads in Atlanta. As a Clear Channel Atlanta employee, it's a shame to see Randall go.

I seem to remember that Bloomquist was the guy that turned around WBT/Charlotte quite well.
When was the last 'GST PD that made a positive change? maybe Zintak? maybe! in the early '90's?
C'mon, be honest. Bloomquist was destined for failure on ATL before he arrived. Makes one wonder why he took the gig. How bad did was ABC/DC?

I'd bet a small amount of money that there will be fewer and fewer contracts in our industry, particularly with a Democrating administration in Washington. I suspect there will be a move to outlaw no competes. In each State where they have been brought up, they've been done away with. A liberal administration in a down economy would likely be in favor of legislation doing away wth them should iut be proposed - and it certainly will be. And, once the 'no compete' is gone,m why should the talent contract?
I knew it would be a matter of time before Randal Bumquist was shown the door,it was just a coupple of months ago that Deskins was kicked to the curb. CC atlanta needs some new management.
It's a shame to hear this about WGKA's employee of the year...He did so much to boost their audience...
