I apologize if it appeared that I took your statement to mean that you were bashing the success of the RMS. I was actually pointing my finger at a few others around here.

It is quite possible to admire the accomplishment if not the method. That's exactly the way I feel about Stern, Kraddick, and Jagger.

It is ammusing how the ratings can be read so that every show in every time slot on every station is "#1 in the Metroplex!".

I was actually trying to further the discussion, but... well...

HE STARTED IT!!!!

(c'mon, some of this stuff it funny, idnit?)

As far as Arbitron, when you have a monopoly, you have to at least wonder about the end result.

Yes, we are hilia... hilari... hilarious... yeah

No, no, no

Bingo, I was talking to Slambang.

He had a potty mouth. And well, I had to push him off the swing -- even though he is a girl.

Mr. IQ refers to Mr. Slam.

To whom am I speaking operator?

I was in journalism, so I ignored grammar.

OOOOOPs, The Batman is reading too fast.

Yeah, I did notice that but by the end I just did not care Bingo!

I think I know where you work part time.

But The Batman gives you the last word.

Agreed. KXEB has unique programming for this area. KSKY is one of four stations running conservative talk shows in this market. Worse, KSKY has NO local talk shows. Neither does KXEB - but that's not much of a problem when you have something no other station in town has.

What liberals won't like is the comparison between KXEB and the other four talk stations:

Conservative talk: 8.8 share (WBAP, KRLD, KLIF, KSKY)
Liberal talk: 0.5 share (KXEB)

Yes, I'm aware KLIF carries Alan Colmes and KRLD has news and the Rangers. It's just a rough estimation.

Still not a fair comparison, since three of those stations are established and on strong signals. Not to mention that they actually get promoted.

The actual potential of liberal talk radio as a format is really not something that we can know until many more years have passed, with better promotion, better stations, and probably quite a bit of experimentation to see what will and won't work.

After all, the conservative talk formats took a while to develop and build.
