Ratings..how sad.

I haven't been listening to bay area radio, (maybe once or twice for half an hour) for a year but just happened to glance over the ratings in R&R. The sad parts of it, are almost 40% have under 1 share which means most people aren't listening to most radio stations in the Bay area.
KFRC can never get back to where it once was...(you fixed it when it wasn't broken), and it seems like Alice and Live 105 is like Mrs. Fletcher...I fell down the stairs i can't get back up.
And the non pop stations like Classical, Triple aaa, Mexican,Spanish, Smooth jazz, and a couple of Urban stations take over the top 10. And I'm sure KQED would be way up there if San Fran. was PPM. It's like cruising down a directory of Live 365. Except it's terrestrial. The pop mainstream listeners are gone unless it's CHR urban, and the choice looks bleak. Thank god for XM.

Once again, if you are just looking at R&R, you are just looking at 12+.

Other than just for bragging rights in the press, no radio station cares about their 12+ numbers.

And KQED does not subscribe, PPM or not. That is why they are not in the #2 - #4 slot.

You are right KFRC was not broke to begin with. They killed it on 99.7 to make way for Movin...which ain't Movin' at all and never has. But I'm sure Movin' just like LA is on the brink of being a HIT, right?

BTW, how long will it take before PD Tom Jordan is thrown under the bus by Mike Preston who everybody knows is the real PD of the new improved KFRC 0.9

All stations, subscribed or not, are reported in Maximiser. However, the Arbitrends just does commercial stations. The quarterly "book" shows non-coms, too.

Yes, their ratings are right in front of me too. My point is that when you look at Radio & Records on line, like the orginal post, KQED is not going to show, and those on line ratings are pretty much meaningless.

Put them in the 25-54 year old money demo and they are fighting with KOIT and KFOG as the top English speaking stations book after book.

So in the preferred 25-54 demo, CBS still comes up poorly - only KCBS, Alice, and MOViN' are in the top group of stations in the morning (thank you Sarah and No Name). I guess CBS owns a piece of La Raza - can we count that?

In the all-day ratings, it's worse - only KCBS and Alice show up - Live 105, MOViN, and KFRC finish out of the running. Things aren't getting much better for CBS radio.

I've heard on numerous occasions Sarah and No Name bragging about how good their ratings are. Is it just in one demo, but just awful in just about every other?

And then looking at 25-54...how the mighty have fallen. Wild isn't even there...I guess that's the T-Man way...MMMHMM...

Wow. That second statement couldn't be more wrong. Tim Jordan works hard at KFRC. He programs all the music and more. I doubt he is going anywhere. Even in say, 3 or 10 years if KFRC flips, CBS/Mike Preston will just find another job for him. That's what they did when KFRC flipped to Movin.

Truth be told: If I was consulting KYLD, I would be telling them that their ratings momentum is just where it needs to be. As far as T-Man goes, I'll have to go back and double check, but I believe this is the first time he's outperformed the rest of his station in 18-34 in the year that he's been on the air in the Bay. This should be seen as very significant. His numbers in San Jose also continue to be very impressive which I know, means more to someone like me than some of the other posters on this board.Cheers.

Is 25-54 not showing up where it needs to be? Yeah, they target 18-34, but is it not a concern to not even place in the top 20 in 25-54?

With all the CBS talk...how 'bout the cowboys and cowgirls at Entercom and the Wolf? Are they kidding? What a disaster! I'm sure this not what the suits in the big offices expected. Poor decisions all around!!! Dayparts need help. Mornings...forget about it! How's that decision working out for them? What do you expect when you put bodies into am drive without any experience at all.

San Fran as a whole is a pretty dissappointing market for radio. How does anyone at CBS keep their job for so long. The expectation bar has been set pretty low. I guess that's radio in general. The suits and jocks are fine with just getting by. So really who is to blame? It's the blind leading the blind. 8)

Peace and booty-grease y'all!

They're getting paid to deliver 18-34 so that's who they deliver. They have plenty of other stations in that cluster that are targeting the 25-54 demo.

Hey 'create'

Keep tellin' yourself that and keep drinking the Kool-aide.
