Also, is it me or did everyone's numbers slide downward just a bit? It also seems that the country stations took a hit. Any chance they can rebound...especially Joe FM? Maybe it's the time of year?
Opinions?
Remember that what we're seeing in R&R and on this thing is a two-book average. The old-fashioned 12-weeker still exists, but we'll probably never see it. Being averages, the ups and downs mean a little more, but you'd need both 12-week reports to really know.
For instance, the drops for all the Forever stations--all went down--in the published averages are likely much more pronounced in the Spring book itself, after having good Fall books. And after falling several shares last time out, the rebound for Z probably represents a big jump back up in the 12-week. Gotta be happy going from #4 to a #2 tie. It's doubtful they caught QWK in the one-book, though. Quick certainly has to be happy at #1.
If you add the numbers from 98.1 and 98.7 from this report, they add up to just about where 98.1 was all by itself before starting the simulcast. All they've done is take the Frog audience and split it in two. As good as 101 may sound, it's hard to imagine the newest version will do any more than create two 6-share radio stations. Unless they turn 98.1 off, or change formats, which ain't gonna happen. Joe is down to a 1 share, so they really don't figure into the ratings equation any longer, or at least for the time being.
B was up a share, which confirms their place in the upper half of the market. Magic (Majic?) was steady, which may not be so good at a time when they were probably looking to make a splash.
