Raul Brindis fired?

I've read on Twitter that BMF is also airing live on KGBT in the Rio Grande Valley. You'd think that station is under no obligation to air the show in mornings, as they are no longer an Univision station.
this is the number one show on a national level.. Not many more options.

guess I was right .. Like what 3 weeks ago? She is way to ''fresa'' for the show so we shall see how that works out.
That is probably part of the charm, as she constantly gets ribbed by the nacos at the side. Ribbing on fresas is a proud tradition in Regional Mexican radio. The "Chokolata" character in Erazno y la Chokolate is probably the best example I can think of.

It's a Bone-headed move. And by Bone-headed, I mean that it's a similar move that iHeart did with Bobby Bones, who went from CHR to Country and became very succesful in the process. Regional Mexican is the Country music of Mexico.

I've heard that LMN hired little to no new on-air talent after purchasing some of the Univision radio stations. That's probably the only reason that BMF is still airing on KGBT.

I was a fan in the Pepito days. But then Rauls style and personality did not adapt to the changing market conditions. The show’s format became watered down, with more lame celebrity interviews. He worked 5 days a week, and instead of dipping into his catalog of 30+ years, they would replay recently aired bad shows. I find "El Bueno, La Mala y El Feo” and "freegueyshow" boring and a little weird, both shows sound the same with the same poor writing and silly premises and many times unfunny.

Agreed, Pepito was super funny. The little squirrel character isn’t funny. And yes both freeguey show and BMF sound the same.

WOJO is the only Regional Mexican station I get where I live. Reception for WDDW from Milwaukee is fuzzy and you can forget about WLEY with its null to the north. Otherwise I would listen to Erazno y la Chokolata on WDDW over the Free-Güey show.

The BMF show I find funny though.

I wonder what Raul's non-UVN affiliates will switch to. Among those are Indianapolis, Tyler-Longview, Laredo, and Milwaukee.

All of them except for Laredo have BMF on a competing station.

Biggest rumor is that LMN wants to hire him and create a network for his show including many of the stations turkeys they bought from Univision.
I'm not sure if he could replicate his success on FM in the AM universe. However, regardless, I LMN wants to hire him, I suspect they will need deep pockets. Raul was supposedly Univision's Million Dollar Man, meaning he was paid a million dollars annual salary. I suspect his lifestyle would require at least that amount going forward. Also, I'm not sure how all this would play out in the contract LNM has with Univision regarding short-tern operations and engineering.

The thing is, LMN has some FMs in the RGV, Fresno, and Las Vegas. Also a rimshot in Dallas. But I really can't see Raul doing well in Vegas and Fresno.

incorrect Raul took a major pay cut a few years ago. The only benefit was that for the most part his team for a very long time was protected from station cuts.

LMN right now would have more money to spend than Univison does .Piolin would be the last Talent to make over a Million dollars Event BFM now in over 100 Markets doesn't make that much.

Raúl has never done well outside of South Texas. Not Dallas, not anything farther west.

Excuse me, but you think a couple of political activists who borrowed money have more cash to spend than TelevisaUnivision (which is the company name now).

Heck, there was even one on an FM in Puerto Rico, another in New York and very close on Amor in Miami and Recuerdo in LA... but that was over a decade ago.

There are other employees at Univision who appear to be protected from staffing cuts. However, they lack the talent that Brindis obviously possesses.
Part of the issue is the huge decline in ratings for Raúl over the course of 2023.

Then a

One is laying off people left and right and runs a bare-bone operation and the other is hiring people left and right .. Did not say Televisa Univision has less money as an operation but yes for sure more money to spend. Visit the Building in Dallas or Houston to talk about GHOST TOWN.
