RealOldies 1690 WRLL

So Clear Channel is still streaming RealOldies--must still be some money to be made, maybe they use the audience numbers for some advertising reason. They aren't doing it so that people can hear music, that's for sure. And it's a little too late to deflect criticism for pulling the show. Clearly, there must be some financial gain or Clear Channel wouldn't do it.

I have 4 part 15 stations, including the one at home, which is the only one of the 4 not 24/7. My Rangemaster was installed by a guy who practices in front of the fcc (a friend of mine).

My antenna is legal (10 feet, but it is 50 feet off the ground mounted on the transmitter - also legal) and ground system is great. The Rangemaster goes just under a mile and a half radius. My Gizmo goes about a half mile radius.

1690, don't get caught.

is wrll online the actual station or a loop?
WRLL no longer exists. The RealOldies playlist is being played on their Web site, without personalities, just the music. Could be a loop, for all I know as I will not listen.

In an earlier post some rodent said, "clear channel OWNS the 1690 frequency."

CORRECTION!!!!

NOBODY "OWNS" ANY FREQUENCY- not even Clear Channel. Radio station owners are "licensed to operate" a radio station by the fcc.

Your part 15 station COULD operate on 1690 when the frequency is NOT OCCUPIED. I know a part 15 that does that every week when a particular radio station is off the air.

You could NOT operate on 720 on the overnight WGN signs off because I believe they leave their carrier ON.

I hope I'm NOT stealing one of the rodent's "GREAT brainstorm ideas." Earlier, he accused me of that.

Are you referring to the Old Fashion Geezer with old fasion ideas?
And always complaining about the changes of formats?

He need to get in with the rythem and be in with today's standerds!
I wondered who let the old buzzard on the computer?

I stand corrected on Larry The Legend Johnson. He's alive in retirement in Milwaukee. Apparently he's had some serious problems with diabetes but is currently doing well. His granddaugther posted an update about him at onmilwaukee.com, and there was a reply from David Haines' daughter.

I know... to much radio geek info.

I'll bite off now.
