Rebecca Black - Friday?

I think that this song and video have a cult following. So bad it's good like Plan 9 From Outer Space. However give the kid a break she's only 13 and she has a lot of guts for leaving the song on you tube. Is this song any more stupid than "Love Me Do" by The Beatles?

Just overheard a couple of youths on the bus singing this. I don't think any stations are playing it in the UK though. I'd give this an evens chance of making the top 20 on Sunday. It's an early spring in England this year and this bubblegum song may have caught the zeitgeist.

If BBC Radio 1 is playing it they're more than likely playing it as a joke. Radio 1 has never been known as being a big supporter of boybands/girl bands. For instance, you're much more likely to hear acts like JLS or The Saturdays on London's 95.8 Capital FM than you are on BBC Radio 1.

Anyways, here's the current playlist for BBC Radio 1:

And here's the playlist for Capital FM (which is now a quasi-national CHR in the UK that can be heard in all the major cities on FM)

Oh I'm sure they are. But a play is a play. It may not be on the playlist, but it has been played on drivetime several times, and at least once on breakfast.

Its the abhorrent lyrics that kill it.

I STRONGLY AGREE.

"Whip my hair" was MUCH better than this.

My favorite part is when she talks about yesterday was Thursday, today is Friday tomorrow is Saturday and "Sunday comes afterwooooords", AND then the rapper comes in talking about "I be Rebecca Black" then proceeds to rap and talk about a school bus in front of him and a car passing by the side...
Almost as bad is the line that says "Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal"

I actually like it. It's just a kid singing a fun song. People take this stuff way too seriously.
Simon Cowell said it best; it's hair dryer music. Songs girls sing into their hair dryers while getting ready to go out.

And you can't deny it's catchiness.

"which seat should I taaaaaake"
