Anyone catch the new guy on RED? I forget his name but he sounded pretty good for the station

Not sure, I heard him over the weekend sometime at night....didn't sound VT'd

Yeah that was around the time I heard him. He sounded like a rookie, but I thought over all wasn't to bad..could've been his 1st shift who knows. thoughts?

It sounded like his first time. Probably why he was on at that hour. Good place to work out the kinks and hopefully get some good direction internally....maybe a future daytimer....maybe.

Exactly! He had a good presence on air. However, I think he needs to be more aware of his levels and also make sure he prepares a bit more . At times felt like he was struggling for things to say! But we've all been there at one point in our careers so you can't knock the guy. I could see him in a 7p-12a someday

I wanna know which one of you IS the new guy or the new guy's family member giving him a shameless plug on radio-info.com??? ??? ??? ::) ::) ???

Yes "never was", ya got me.....I'm his Mom.

No Nightcourt, Im no longer in radio. I was for about 10 years but I've been out for the last 15. I was never talented enough to make the good money.

I listened to this wunderkind on Saturday night into Sunday morning. The five minutes of dead air around 1am was an interesting tack.

RED 102.3 has good songs. That's the entire "pro" list, unfortunately. The afternoon drive guy has all the technical acumen of a profoundly-retarded and blind chimpanzee.

And can someone please inform the WCAT staff that in radio, sound levels are somewhat important? Brad Flick can build a 1,000-watt radio station out of four blades of grass and a bar of Neutrogena facial soap. No one else there can so much as read a VU meter.

Gosh, I wish Dr. Rock had been that creative when he simply described me as "no talent" :'(

There are those of us who take special pride in our smack talk. However, I have known people with the technical acumen of a profoundly-retarded and blind chimpanzee, to be quite the major market talent.

I didn't realize that people could have such a profound opinion about someone who hasn't been on air in 4 years. I mean sure he's working the kinks out but give cut the guy some slack. I guess everyone on here is perfect and they had the golden pipes or velvet tones right off the bat!!! This guy has a lot of potential, he just needs to relax, have fun, and slow down.

Just for the record I am not a family member of his and nor am I him(read that a few posts back)!

I just think you're being a little hard on the guy, that is unless the wunderkind comment was sincere?

No, I wouldn't aim that everyone on this forum...only at those who hide behind screen names (and I don't mean you, WISL4EVA). As you read the posts that flame people that they don't even know, click on their screen names; you'll see that they don't give you any info about themselves. I would assume that these people would not speak so harshly of others here if they were required to identify themselves.
::)
BTW, whoever this guy is on RED, I wish him much luck, and I hope he ignores the flames and uses the responsible criticism to improve himself and move on.
