PS -- Castiglione/Berman sounds more awful than words can possibly describe. I can only hope I have the opposing team's broadcast available to me when that pairing is scheduled.

I have only three words to add about your observation on the Sox broadcast team being exclusively male...DAMN!...DAMN!...DAMN!...(performed in my best Esther Rolle / Florida Evans voice)

On Castiglione / Berman...I couldn't agree more...and...I'm dreading those games when both will be present.

I think it's more like he's freed up for radio when the Sox are on national TV instead of NESN.

Impemba was fired from his Tigers job after getting into a fistfight with his broadcast partner, who was also fired. The Sox should have hired him, too.

As someone who brought in a stereo to tune out the TV broadcast --which is endless talking and commercialism-- I'm disappointed they dumped the traditional radio broadcast team(2). NY oriented Berman and Lewin...No. McDonough is self-involved. This other guy?

My prediction is that this will be a transition year in both radio and TV booths. There will be change in 2020.

He's a big talent. By why don't people like him? I would rather listen to Castiglione who isn't half the broadcaster Dave is.

I'm with you on Berman. Been there...Done that. To me, he has "Yesterday's News" written all over him. Not being very familiar with Lewin, I'm more than willing to give him a fair chance.

Besides...things could always be worse. They could have brought back Jerry Trupiano!

They could have him on for a "Way-Back Wednesday" inning or two during a spring training game, maybe even invite John Wasdin himself to come out of retirement to groove a few pitches to the opposition so Jerry can give us his trademark call!

I may well be in the minority on this one, but way "back in the day", the Red Sox should have snapped up Suzyn Waldman before the Yankees could get their paws on her.

I think it's way past due for the Red Sox to have a woman as part of the broadcast team.

Off the top of my head, one good choice would be Amy Lawrence, currently with CBS Sports Radio. Not only is she already a Red Sox fan...but she's been in broadcasting for quite a number of years now...certainly no rookie. And besides, her upbeat style could add some life to what is a sometimes dry and dull radio PBP.
