Regarding CBS sports radio

john stashower moves to NBC. i knew there was a hole at ESPN radio lately but couldn't figure it out. he gets a regular update gig and a sunday morning show. lateral move but i hope he likes his new digs. he's a real pro and i've always enjoyed his solid work.

the rest of the lineup looks like re-treads and nothing exciting except for maybe chris mannix.

Kind of odd for NBC to have weekend talent lined up for weekends before CBS, and NBC isn't 24/7 yet (but will be in April).

Agreed. They are definitley doing business untraditionally.

Lateral move? More like a move backwards. Besides, I don't think NBC(or CBS, Fox and Yahoo for that matter) will survive the year. They're all running for a distant 2nd place behind the WorldWideMonopolizer.

Fox has survived 10+ Years, Yahoo (Sporting News, One on One Sports, Sports Entertainment Network before being yahoo in regressing order) has been around for 22 years.. if those 2 have survived the 2nd & 3rd place behind ESPN those 2 i dont see going away anytime so soon in the next year. the only way FSR and YSR kicks the bucket is if CBS or NBC had Pillaged their affiliate lists then maybe. but when CBS has seemingly pillaged ESPN more than they did the other 2. ESPN got more of an affiliate hit than Fox and yahoo did from CBS.

This only fuels the NBC/Yahoo merger possibilities

Yahoo Sports Radio is locally owned by Gow though. Do you think NBC will buy Gow out?

Especially when you consider how Yahoo has gutted its weekend and primetime lineups over the last few months.

Love The Czabe. The rest of the day is weak. Yahoo! seems to be the sports network you taken when all the others are locked up, or if you need to fill a few hours.

Well, the shedding of ESPN has occurred in Myrtle Beach as WSEA "100.3 The Team" will offer CBS Radio Sports effective Wednesday January 2. Not surprising, as thee station is owned by Cumulus. I'm hearing that upward of 60 stations will follow suit.

As has been previously announced, all Cumulus-owned sports stations will flip to the new network.

*Note: the debut of Ferrall On The Bench at 10pm ET on 1/1/13 was via the feed of WIP-AM-610 Philadelphia - at least that's what's being heard over the CBS Sports Radio players and streams as of this posting.
After Midnight ET 1/2/13 when the network had its national debut, local liners for WIP 610 were still running on the stream.

Sponsorships: broadcasting from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studio in New York (at the Hudson Square complex where the CBS Radio-New York stations are located; one of the Sportsradio WFAN studios was recently rewired for the new network).
Phone number: 1-855-212-4CBS

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CBSSportsRadio

Basically the same formatics as WFAN: 20/20 updates at :00, :20 and :40
[Jay Berman (WINS NYC/WEPN NYC freelancer) did the 10pm-11:40pm ET updates; Peter Schwartz (WFAN updates/Jets reporter) has the Midnight-onward ET shift].
As at WFAN Paul Turner voices the network sweepers/liners.

pjc1961...Thanks, I am going to have to try an alternative stream, because the main stream off of CBSSports.com is way overloaded with commercials...the breaks end after programs are already in progress....the commercial breaks on there have to be close to 10 minutes long.
