Remember when 93.5 KDAY was called 93.5 The Beat

I find it irritating that they're still saying things like "make the switch" or "thanks for making the switch", as if they're still new. They're almost 2 years old!

I know. The same thing with V-100. They were calling themselves "The New V-100" until they went off the air.

Yeah thats something the PD should be on top. Movin did the same thing for a while. Very annoying. Its funny KBIG flipped to MyFM and I never heard the new slogan.

Years ago maybe during their Cali Mix Weekend. Havent heard that song in a while. Im sure KDAY plays it
KDAY does play it occasionally. That record kicks butt after 15 years. I remember hearing on 92.3 The Beat also. The song was released to radio sometime in February 1996. I played that song on repeat on my iPhone among others songs from the 90's and Early 2000's. The video used to all over B.E.T. those were the days.

Yep I remeber it got alot of airplay during that time. Also Ghost Town Dj's My Boo got alot of airplay on the Beat, Power 106 and KGGI during the 90's. Mark Morris Return of the Mack and Toni Toni Toni Let's Get Down

When Power 106 was playing real hip hop instead of that ringtone hip hop they are playing. Let's jump into a time machine and go back to 1995-1996. lol.

Years ago maybe 96 was the last time I heard that song on Power. Last time I heard that song was in Dallas Summer 2001 on KKDA FM

@WDB 2003 I just got done listening to My Boo on by Ghost Town DJ's on my iPhone. That song still kicks butt since it hit the airwaves in April 1996. 1993-2003 was when Hip Hop & R&B was in it's prime especially 1995-96. Oh and remember Da B side by Da Brat & Notorious B.I.G. when was the last time Power 106 played those hits 1995?

It's been a while Missy, Puffy, Maze and Biggy Smalls. Its been a while since Power played those hits. I still hear Tupac Ice Cube every now and then.

Ok! What about No One Else By Total. When was the last time Power 106 played Total. I love the original version and the Rap Remix with Foxy Brown, Da Brat and Lil' Kim

And Gin N Juice by Snoop Dogg, Can I Get A By Jay-Z, What's Your Fantasy By Ludacris along with Southren Hospitality.

I heard Gin and Juice and Can I Get A normally during the mixes on Big Boy in the morning or usually during a mixshow Total its been a while

@WDB 2003Power 106 will still play California Love By 2Pac along How Do You Want It. 112 Ony You from 1996. When was last time they've Power 106 Dru Hill back in the late 90's.

Its been a while. The Tupac songs will always be california staples in Hip Hop and R&B. California Love was a crossover hit too on Top 40 radio. How Do You Want it I only hear it on KDAY or KGGI

@WDB Ok another artist! When was the time you've heard I Wanna Be Down By Brandy on Power 106 1994? I hear it on KDAY every now and then. Heck I even hear it on KJLH from time to time. But I need to know.

I dont recall Power 106 ever playing a Brandy record. I Wanna Be Down I hear sometimes on KJLH and KGGI. KHHT use to play it before they shifted their playlist. Last time I heard a new Brandy record was in 2007 when Right Here came out. Sad it was during that whole car accident drama. KIIS gave Right Here a few spins from what I remeber. I dont recall KPWR playing it but KJLH and KDAY did.

What about 92.3 The Beat?

Well when the Beat was on the air right around the time Brandy first came out in the 90's so I assume the song got heavy airplay. I remeber them playing Sittin Up In My Room from the Waiting To Exhale Soundtrack and Toni Braxtons Let It Flow. I didnt start listening to radio until 1996.
