Clear Channel did the request-a-thon on The River 105.9 in Hartford back in over a weekend in February. They did it 6AM-7PM on Friday, 8AM-6PM on Saturday, and 8AM-4PM on Sunday. I didn't hear how much money they actually raised for The Connecticut Children's Medical Center, but I can tell you I am not normally a listener of The River and I found myself tuned in just to hear what they were gonna play next. - So yeah I think STAR got a boost in listenership during their request-a-thon. In Hartford it was $25 minimum donation to hear a song. Operators standing by in the main Clear Channel office. And when they said they'll play anything - they meant it. Disco, Classic Country, Country, Adult Standards, Hip-Hop, Oldies, and of course stuff that would normally get played on The River anyway. "Walmart" Jeff one of the characters on the morning show on sister CHR station down the hall KISS 95.7 came down and requested a hip-hop song and he mispronounced the artist's name. Meanwhile The River Jock pronounced it correctly!!!!
